Each year, the Boyertown Area Progress Dinner Committee selects an organization or person in the Boyertown area that has operations or employment within the Boyertown Area School District and has made business, civic or volunteer accomplishments with the Boyertown Area community. As a result of the aforementioned criteria, the committee has unanimously chosen Building a Better Boyertown (BBB), as the award recipient of the James K. Boyer Quality of Life Award for their revitalization efforts in maintaining Boyertown’s historical heritage, promoting downtown Boyertown and attracting people to the community at large.
This award will be presented at the Boyertown Area Progress Dinner on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 (snow date Wednesday, January 28) at La Massaria at Bella Vista Golf Course in Gilbertsville. Doors will open at 4:30 PM and dinner will begin at 6 PM. The event is presented by the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce.
During the event, in lieu of a keynote speaker, the dinner’s committee invited several local organizations to present their current programs and initiatives. They also selected several businesses that have recently opened or made improvements/additions to their property to be featured in a Progress Video. This year, Martin Motorsports and Serenity Junction will be featured on the video which will be created by Boyertown Area High School students for viewing at the Progress Dinner. In addition, the 2009 James K. Boyer Quality of Life Award recipient, Building a Better Boyertown, will present highlights of various projects that have made a significant impact on the Boyertown Area community throughout the past year.
