Winter Sessions 2009
All classes begin the week of January 19th and continue for 6 weeks. Class materials lists will be sent prior to the start of classes. All classes cost $120.00 (unless otherwise noted). Annual membership is required to enroll in classes. Tuition and membership is due at registration. No refunds for missed classes. Classes will be rescheduled if closed due to extreme weather conditions. We reserve the right to cancel any class due to low enrollment. Credit for another class will be given or a refund will be issued within 30 days. Last day to enroll for winter session is January 15th. Christmas special: Membership waived and each 6 week course for $100! Must sign up before December 31st!

Monday 10-Noon Watercolor for Senior Citizens (50+)
Geared toward beginners, but, any level may attend and discover the beauty found in this light, versatile medium. Teacher: Diana McKee

Monday 4-6 PM Colored Pencil Drawing
Colored pencil can be a sketch or a painting with all the polishes. Be amazed at what you can do with colored pencil! This class will cover all the basics of working with colored pencil. We’ll cover portraits, animals, and floral. Teacher: Jean Esther

Monday 6-8 PM Jewelry
An introductory class for ages 15 and up on jewelry making basics including readymade and handmade techniques. Learn how to create beaded link bracelets, dangle chain earrings, charm bracelets, and more! There is a $30.00 material fee with this class and additional decorative items and tools will be required. Teacher: Angela Namowicz

Tuesday 10-Noon Watercolor for Home-schooled children (10-18)
Basic watercolor techniques will be explored with an emphasis on value studies and color. Teacher: Diana McKee

Tuesday 4-6 PM Drawing
This class teaches a solid foundation in drawing for the beginner to intermediate level artist. Students will learn composition and techniques using pencil, charcoal, and pastel.
Teacher: Susan Biebuyck

Tuesday 6-8 PM Portrait Drawing
This class teaches the basic foundation in drawing portraits. From the skull and muscle structure to facial features, we will understand the properties and proportions of the face.
Teacher: Jean Esther

Wednesday 4-6 PM Fashion Illustration
Learn the basics of drawing for the fashion industry. Class will cover technical garment illustrations (known as flats), fashion figure proportions and drawing the clothed fashion figure. A basic knowledge of garment construction and some prior drawing experience is helpful but not necessary. Teacher: Amanda Condict

Wednesday 6-8 PM 2-D Open Studio
Need more studio time? Bring your drawings and paintings to work on your own independent projects. Student feedback and guidance is available upon request.

Saturday 9-11 AM Drawing
Learn how to draw what you see! Draw the still life in pencil and charcoal giving it volume through shading. Teacher: Bob Williams

Saturday 12-2 PM Mixed Media: Painting and Collage
This class will be an exploration of basic collage and acrylic painting techniques with ways to combine them to create personally meaningful works of art.

Saturday 2-4 PM 2-D Open Studio
Need more studio time? Bring your drawings and paintings to work on your own independent projects. Student feedback and guidance is available upon request.

Saturday 4-6 PM Manga
This class will teach conventional realistic-drawing techniques (which are all part of Manga style animation) but with a twist. All the subject matter will feature Manga characters, scenarios, designs, lighting, and more. It’s the best of both worlds for kids that love Manga. They develop skills that translate to any kind of realistic drawing: light and shadow, line and tone, perspective and foreshortening hands, faces, and body action. Teacher: Jean Esther

Sunday 12-2 PM Cartooning
Learn the techniques of the professional cartoonist. From conceptualization to visualization bring your characters to life with cartooning class. Teacher: Jean Esther

Sunday 2-4 PM Imaginative Drawing
For developing artists and those just beginning, we will explore our imagination and learn how to translate our ideas into successful drawings. Topics include creating your own characters, anatomy of a super hero, comic book illustration, and Anime. Teacher: Jean Esther
