Durango’s Saloon
120 East Philadelphia Avenue
610-473-9444
Now open for lunch!
Formerly known as the William Penn Lodge during the 1800′s, this location was a popular local stop for travelers. Circa 1890 the hotel acquired a new owner and its name was changed to The Old Mansion House. Local residents were treated to a fine meal before attending the evening entertainment at the Opera House, located just a few doors away. During the prohibition years, The Old Mansion House gained a reputation of infamy serving drinks to privileged guests downstairs in the basement.
The upstairs continued to be a popular place for fine dining. Many years have gone by and The Old Mansion House is alive with nostalgia.
Following a change in ownership and a facelift, this historic building, now known as Durango’s Saloon, will continue to proudly serve
residents and guests with a wide variety of dining and beverage selections.

The Daniel Boone Homestead, located near Boyertown, Pennsylvania, is a state historic site which preserves a number of historic structures. The Homestead offers many historic programs and exhibits, preserves 579 acres of open space, and provides passive recreational areas.
Daniel Boone’s parents first settled the site in 1730 and the region was populated by many diverse people– English, Welsh, Scots-Irish, Germans, Swedes, Huguenots and Lenape Indians. Daniel was born here in 1734 and spent his first 16 years here before his family migrated to North Carolina.
Today the site tells the story of Daniel’s youth and the saga of the region’s 18th century settlers by contrasting their lives and cultures. This region left a lasting impact on Daniel Boone’s life, and on the history of Pennsylvania.
