All kids are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes and “trunk or treat” around the shared parking lot of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ (35 W Philadelphia Ave) and St John’s Lutheran Church (45 N Reading Ave) on Saturday October 22nd from 3pm to 5pm. Come enjoy trick or treating before the Halloween Parade in a safe and welcoming environment! Grab a bite to eat and play some games too.

Join Building a Better Boyertown for Santa’s arrival for Chillin’ on Main scheduled on Saturday December 3rd, from 11am to 2pm, for a day of family activities right on Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown. (Philadelphia Avenue will be closed from Reading Avenue to Washington Street 10am-3pm).
Once again Santa and Characters will be arriving on East Philadelphia Avenue at 11 am. Listen for the train whistle and watch as Santa arrives from the North pole, via the Colebrookdale Railroad to be dropped off right on East Philadelphia Avenue. Be sure to come early to get in line for your free sitting with Santa and receive a free 4” x 6”color photograph by a professional photographer.
Don’t miss Santa’s workshop, games, crafts, and activities provided by participating local businesses, and non-profits on your favorite Main Street. We have music being provided by the Boyertown Alumni Band for Santa’s arrival and also a DJ to provide holiday music and announcements during the event. Holiday dancers will be performing and there will be reindeer food give-a-ways provided by the Boyertown Community Library, hot chocolate brought to you by the Salvation Army and of course lots of cookies to be handed out by the volunteers of Building A Better Boyertown.

Learn how to make beautiful homemade cards utilizing different techniques such as embossing, sponging and distressing. Card designs will vary and each participant will go home one each of Birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as a simple gift card holder.

Dancing Tree Creations Artisans Gallery & Studio Names Emma Ketterer
in Budding Artist Program for Young Local Artists
Dancing Tree Creations Artisans Gallery and Studio is proud to name Emma Ketterer as their next Budding Artist. An opening reception, with light refreshments and the opportunity to meet other local artists, will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016, from 5pm to 7pm. The Budding Artist Program provides school-aged artists an opportunity to join over 200 local and national artisans in exhibiting and selling their crafts for a three-month period of time with all proceeds going to the Budding Artist.
Ketterer, a home bound tutored fourteen-year-old from Kutztown, is the Gallery’s tenth Budding Artist, and her work will be available from October 2016, through December 2016.
From a very young age Ketterer remembers being passionate about art. In preschool she carried a notebook around with her and would spend all her free time drawing the things she saw. During recess, she would sit under the school’s sliding board and study the flowers. As she got older, she was able to express her creativity through her sketches and writing.
On her first day of middle school, Ketterer became very ill and was hospitalized for nearly a week with what was assumed to be a virus. Over the next two years, her health continued in a downward spiral until she was finally diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease. It was during this time, continue reading…
