Commonly called hay fever or allergic rhinitis, a seasonal allergy is an allergic reaction to a trigger that is typically only present for part of the year. Spring is traditionally the main season when allergies blossom because of new growth on trees and weeds. Seasonal allergies are caused by the body’s hypersensitivity to substances in the environment. Symptoms primarily involve the membrane lining the nose, causing allergic rhinitis, or the membrane lining the eyelids and covering the whites of the eyes, causing allergic conjunctivitis. Are you experiencing allergy symptoms? Give us a try…we can help!

The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles recently honored its dedicated corps of volunteers with an Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, April 23. About 100 volunteers and their guests attended the event, which was catered by CD’s Place. As a show of their gratitude, staff acted as servers for these amazing men and women who give of their own time to help the Boyertown Museum. Seated by the picturesque Reading Diner and 1921 Sunoco Station, volunteers enjoyed photos, raffle prizes, and remarks from staff and fellow volunteers. Awards were presented to several outstanding volunteers: Matt Loizeaux, Volunteer of the Year; U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps, Maine Division, Volunteer Group of the Year; Ernie Derkas, Most Volunteer Hours Contributed; and Medal of Honor Recipients for Outstanding Service were Bob Dare, Pete deMauriac, Jay Fink, Frank Kemp, Ted Maurer, Dan Olsen, Fred Serfass, and Don Wilton. To all of our Boyertown businesses and residents, we are very pleased to announce the creation of, in affiliation with Building a Better Boyertown, “The Boyertown Merchants Association”. This organization in cooperation with the BBB will be focused on the enhanced visibility, promotion and support of all local member businesses. Our inaugural project is the creation of a map of the area that highlights the merchants and attractions of Boyertown. Our target audience will be the casual visitor, area residents, as well as the serious regional tourist market. The first phase of our efforts will be the gathering of lists of participants who, as members of B.B.B. would like to participate in this marketing campaign. Those interested should contact Rachel Kehler at the Peppermint Stick Candy Store, email@example.com
