Facade Grants

The BaBB Main Street Building Grant provides money to property owners or business owners (with property owner approval) to encourage restoration projects of building facades and to enhance the building’s overall exterior appearance, thus creating attractive and historically charming downtown district. Building A Better Boyertown, the Borough’s accredited National Main Street Program has been awarded a matching $50,000 Keystone Communities/Facade Improvement grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development to assist local property owners and businesses to improve their local facades.  The matching grant will invest $100,000 in the downtown over the next four years.  The project is designed to create an incentive for private investment in the downtown business district restoration projects and property reinvestment.

The total reimbursement, per applicant will not exceed 50% of the total project cost up to a maximum of $5,000 or as otherwise noted. The grant cannot be used to pay for work that is currently in progress or completed.

After long deliberation, the Build a Better Boyertown Design Committee has chosen a Victorian paint palette from Sherwin Williams as the preferred color scheme for buildings within the Boyertown Borough.  pdf The design guidelines PDF can be consulted to answer questions as well as to apply for a grant. There is also an image approved boundary map that can accessed image here or in the list below.
