Welcome to Building a Better Boyertown

Building a Better Boyertown (BBB) is a non-profit organization formed in 2002. Boyertown, PA is a Main Street Community, received funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and private donors to focus on downtown revitalization.

BBB staff and volunteers develop and accomplish tasks that maintain Boyertown’s historical heritage, promote downtown Boyertown and attract people to the community. They concentrate on business recruitment and retention and on providing technical assistance and grant opportunities for property and business owners in the Main Street District to make facade improvements enhancing the town's Victorian architecture.

Overall, Boyertown's approach to revitalization is comprehensive in nature. We are always looking for fresh faces and ideas to help us achieve our goals. Come join us, and the fun!

volunteerDear Fellow Boyertown Enthusiasts,

We are fast approaching May 21st and the Boyertown 150 Anniversary Block Party.  We need volunteers and you can help.  We could use set up people, beer servers, wine servers, ticket sellers, ID checkers/wrist band distributors, security (keeping people on the lot if they have drinks in their hands), and the all-important clean-up crew.  Please contact me (jwlea1@comcast.net or 610-716-2164) or Emily Jones (promotions@boyertownpa.org or 484-330-3371) with the time slots you may be available and can help out.  If there is a job you feel uncomfortable performing let us know.  When you come to the party please report to Emily or myself and we will assign you to what is needed most.  Please see the attached volunteer form for time slots we are looking to fill.  Thanks.  Download the Sign-Up Sheet

B2779D72-D537-4856-9050-9B4D6BED4E33To commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the founding Boyertown, Building a Better Boyertown has commissioned an original watercolor, painted by David L. Larson, a well-known artist to the Boyertown and eastern PA area.  The painting portrays and early morning scene along Philadelphia Avenue.

With the assistance of Boyertown Publishing, the painting has been reproduced into a limited edition commemorative print being offered by the BBB.  The large print, offered at $40 (approximately 21″ x 15″) will be signed and numbered by the artist.  A smaller print (approximately 8″ x 10″) will be available for $20.

National Penn Bank (soon to be BB & T) graciously donated $10,000 for the sustainability of the BBB during 2017.  Thank you to all the wonderful people that made this happen!

steam2This year, Boyertown celebrates its 150th Anniversary.  It is a proud moment, in many ways, for our small town.  May 21st and 22nd, what better way to help celebrate than to watch the time capsule opening, fun run, parade, block party and join non-religious celebration at 2 pm on Sunday.   The Colebrookdale Railroad, which also continues to thrive will offer 40 minute train rides, headed up by the Viscose 6, 0-4-0 tank engine.   It was built for the American Viscose Co. of Virginia in 1925 by Baldwin Locomotive Works. It travels the country running on many railroads every year and now its made its way to Boyertown!  Number 6 will also be running May 28th and 29th – ALL ABOARD!!
