Building a Better Boyertown (BBB) is a non-profit organization formed in 2002. Boyertown, PA is a Main Street Community, received funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and private donors to focus on downtown revitalization.
BBB staff and volunteers develop and accomplish tasks that maintain Boyertown’s historical heritage, promote downtown Boyertown and attract people to the community. They concentrate on business recruitment and retention and on providing technical assistance and grant opportunities for property and business owners in the Main Street District to make facade improvements enhancing the town's Victorian architecture.
Overall, Boyertown's approach to revitalization is comprehensive in nature. We are always looking for fresh faces and ideas to help us achieve our goals. Come join us, and the fun!
The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles and students from the Boyertown Area Senior High School have embarked on a cooperative project that will benefit both organizations. Art and history students have both begun projects based at and inspired by the Museum. The art students’ work will culminate in an art show to be held at the Museum on Thursday, June 2 from 4-6pm. Download the Press Release for more information.
In March of this year we added a ninth Meals on Wheels route to accommodate more recipients in need of Meals on Wheels services. This was very necessary and helped us keep the routes from getting too long.
We currently have volunteers who have been delivering Meals on Wheels for 20 – 40 years and are now needing to retire from their volunteer work. We’re now recruiting for new Meals on Wheels Volunteers to step into a variety of roles as soon as possible!
Our nine Meals on Wheels routes serve 120+ home-bound clients per day with a hot noon meal as well as an additional cold evening meal – equivalent to 240+ meals delivered each day. In 2015, we prepared, packaged and delivered 36,750 delicious and nutritious Meals on Wheels meals.
If you have at least 1 ½ – 2 hours between the hours of 11:00 am and 1:00 pm that you’re available during the week, we’d love to have you join us! You can choose to volunteer once a month or more frequently – whatever works for you. Usually, each route has two volunteers – one to drive and one to carry the meal inside, some drivers prefer to do the route alone. Training is provided.
To learn more about becoming a Meals on Wheels volunteer, please contact Diane, our Meals on Wheels Case Manager at 610-367-6957 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more!
Please spread the word in order to help us, help our community!

From Berks Opera’s Artistic Director Francine Black
“We have an incredible opportunity to hear and see some of Boyertown’s legendary alumni and faculty perform a concert of fabulous musical selections from the American treasury of folk, jazz and Broadway May 21 at the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles. These amazing talents, who once graced our high school stage to sold out performances, are making big names for themselves in the professional and academic world. We’ll hear such luminaries as Julia Kershetsky, Peter and Kelly Leibensperger, CJ Hartung, Orin Strunk, Michael Agatone, Jamie Riffle-Cullipher, Tamara Black, and our very own Maestro Chris Cinquini, among a treasury of others.
As a former faculty member of Boyertown Area School District and current Artistic Director of Berks Opera Company, I feel an enormous sense of pride to be privileged to host such a musical extravaganza to celebrate Boyertown’s 150th Anniversary and to join all the artists in honoring a community and school that has a created a place where children can learn and grow and excel.”
